Friendly reminder that a face covering is expected to be worn if 6' social distancing can't be maintained at tonight's Volleyball match. Students in the student section are expected to wear a face covering. This is due to recent guidance from the IDPH stating if all parties are wearing a face covering they will not have to quarantine. Thank you for supporting us and helping keeping our kids in school.
The JH football game at Dunkerton has just been cancelled. Please call 245-1750 with any questions.
The JV football game at Dunkerton has been cancelled for tonight. The JH game will start at 4:15 as planned. Please call 245-1750 with any questions.
Central Community,
This past week the IDPH released guidance that states if face coverings are correctly worn by all parties then we will not have to send students home for the 14-day quarantine. Central's return to learn plan states face coverings are expected when 6' social distancing can't be maintained. Today during our full staff PD everyone agreed we needed to be consistent with following our plan as we do not want to send kids home, WE WANT THEM HERE!!
Starting Monday the following expectations will be followed when not properly wearing a face covering:
1) Teachable moment: First couple times of talking to a student or a time where a student just simply forgot.
2) 1st Offense: Defiant when asked to put a face covering on. You have talked to the student multiple times about the face covering. 1st offense should be recorded as a minor referral.
3) 2nd Offense: Defiance continues and you have already recorded a minor referral. Student should be sent to the office and it should be recorded as a major. Office will contact parents.
4) 3rd Offense: Parent meeting and student is placed on remote learning for 2-weeks.
5) 4th Offense: Parent meeting and student is placed on remote learning for the remainder of the school year.
It isn't our goal to punish students for not wearing a face covering. I understand we all have different beliefs on this. With the new guidance it is my goal to keep all students and staff here. Thank you for your partnership and support in this.
Sincerely,
Mr. Trenkamp

Central Stakeholders,
This past week many Keystone AEA superintendents including myself wrote individual letters to Governor Reynolds requesting her to no longer require a 14-day quarantine. Our reasoning was simple, in our AEA alone we have sent home hundreds of healthy kids who want to be in school. The social emotional toll put on these kids and their families has been enormous.
Today Governor Reynolds eliminated the 14-day quarantine as long as face covering are being worn correctly. This is a timely announcement as our Return to Learn Committee is meeting today. We will review our plan and propose any changes to the School Board for final approval. As stated throughout, this situation (and our plan) will remain fluid.
Thank you for your continued patience and support.
At Friday's game James Eberhardt and Abby Cummer were crowned as our 2020 Homecoming King & Queen. Due to a unique set of circumstances, this year Evan Pensel and James Eberhardt have been crowned as Co-Kings. This picture is from the second crowning which took place immediately after Friday's game.
Both young men handled the situation with integrity. This situation has put their outstanding individual character on display as they did exactly what our Homecoming Court should do - represent Central in the best possible way. We apologize for the confusion, thank you James and Evan for modeling Central's Core Values and showing all of us how to navigate an uncomfortable situation.

Today’s goal was learn something new and have fun! Seven FFA members competed at the NE District Dairy Cattle Evaluation CDE today! Teams placed 13th and 20th out of 24 teams! First time for each of these members competing in this event! Congratulations!

The PBIS reward trip was done at The trout hatchery. Thanks to Wayne Wingert and his two seasonal helpers for stocking the pond, cleaning weeds out of it, baiting hooks, and untangling lines. They were also generous to let the students feed the trout in the runways.
