Testimonial Tuesday - From time to time, we receive feedback from people who have recently been provided great guidance and support or experienced something worth mentioning. Promoting positive experiences is something we feel should not only be focused on, but shared with all of you. Today's testimonial was shared from Central Paraeducator, Mrs. Sue Breitsprecher, following her recent retirement. If you have recently had an experience that you feel is worth noting, please email administration and share what positive impact has been made on your student and or family. We always enjoy hearing about these experiences!

Yesterday, Central Elementary had their final CCS Assembly. We recognized outstanding students with attendance of 98% and higher, students with good behavior, students with advanced rating on their ISASP Math and ELA tests. Also awarded were the 5th Grade Merit Awards, this year going to Emersyn Wiley and Ori Burke. This year's retirees were awarded with the Central Worthy Warrior - pictured here are Sue Breitsprecher, Jean Wiskus and Lisa Bente (missing from the photo: Lori Bunting) It was a fun day, as teachers competed in some friendly competition racing across the gym in inflatables before Central students headed to Founder's Park for their annual year-end family picnic.

The Central Girls Softball Team had their first games of the season last night. Here's a recap... Varsity: Central 1 - Starmont 12 A very good first game, full of learning. As a team, we can definitely learn and grow from this game. Overall, we worked hard and didn’t give up! JV: Central 16 - Starmont 14 The girls fought hard and earned the win. Everyone hit the ball well, and they worked hard on defense! Photo credits: Jarod Bormann

5th/6th graders were not able to have their traditional field/track day due to the wet conditions, so teachers planned some fun stations for them to participate in today. Students played Minute to Win It! type games, had a team-building Lego Challenge, played wiffle ball, and tested their knowledge in trivia with Kahoot! It was a great day to be a Warrior!

Central Sophomore, Zoey Hyde competed at her first Iowa State Co-ed Track and Field Meet last week. She had a fantastic experience at The Blue Oval! She took advantage of the electric atmosphere that is always felt at Drake Stadium and set personal records in all four her wheelchair races. Nice job, Zoey! #warriorproud

Central’s Honors Diploma has both academic and experiential requirements, as well as a Senior Presentation. Academic requirements include core content classes, proficiency testing/GPA, and concentration in a specific area. Students must complete 9 of 12 listed experiential requirements that include attendance, work experiences, extracurricular involvement, leadership, and registering to vote. The Senior Presentation is a 15-minute presentation that highlights the student’s time at Central, what they learned, and how this has prepared them for their future goals. Congratulations to this year's 2024 Central's Honors Diploma Recipient, Peyton Finley!
