Central Pre-K made a fall trip to Elgin to the Kahler's Pumpkin Patch. Kids got to enjoy the day with exploring the pumpkin patch and seeing the farm animals.

Central Community FFA made it to Indiana today! They spent the afternoon learning about the succession of the Indiana Dunes at the National Park from retired agriculture education teacher of 38 years and current park guide, Bill Smith! It was an awesome first day!
Central's art program has teamed up with MercyOne Medical Center to create an elementary art display in the patient rooms of the Elkader and Monona clinics. The hospital staff on the social and wellness committee sponsored the frames that were later filled with student artwork. Congratulations to all our budding artists!

Boys Cross Country team are 2024 Upper Iowa Conference Champs! Last time was 2014!
All Conference Runners: Gavin Holst, Carson Ruegnitz, Jesse Polkinghorn, Tyce Zittergruen, and Henry Reimer.
The Central Torch Chapter of the National Honor Society will be hosting their annual Veterans Day Program. The community is invited to attend to help Central Community School honor all of the men and women of the armed forces, both living and deceased, who have served our country with honor to keep us safe.

Central CC teams had a fantastic day at the UIC conference meet here at the Elkader Golf Course on Thursday, October 17. Varsity boys team of Gavin Holst, Carson Ruegnitz, Jesse Polkinghorn, Tyce Zittergruen, Henry Reimer, Declan Finley, Vaughn Zittergruen were UIC Champions with our top 5 runners finishing in the top 15 and medaling. The JV boys team also finished first amongst the JV teams with Bryce Heller, Michael White, Carter Krugger, Breckon Holst and Griffin Koehn all finishing in the top 15 and receiving ribbons.
The varsity girls team of Coral Rork, Blair Scherf, Hannah Friedlein, Alexis Thiese, Layla Embretson, Aspen Rork, Lilly Becwar finished 5th while JV ribbon finishers were Mya Gregerson and Brooke Tieden.
19 of our 21 high school runners finished with either a Career Best, Course Best or Season best race.
The junior high boys team of Cade Zittergruen , Lukas Friedlein, Ayce Clark, and Arthur Thiese finished 5th with Cade Zittergruen receiving a 6th place ribbon . Claire Orr finished 29th in the junior high girls race.

Central's 6th grade has had a busy day with fun activities. As we have been talking about
setting long term goals and to reach that goal, smaller goals are made to work through. Revisiting the goal to see if some things need changed or starting again if needed. Same concept on our tallest tower build. plan, try, revamp.
Central's 6th grade math is putting their Coordinate Plane plotting skill to use to find out what the mystery picture is. From interactive note taking to plotting, to coloring the finished project.
