The Central Senior Class is engaged in a “Reality Check” simulation on money management. Students are assigned an identity and must make daily/monthly/annual financial decisions for that character.‬ So far student feedback is very positive!

Life Changes 2 class solved a Break Out Box activity. They helped a 40 year old Steve. At a recent doctor appointment he found out that his recent blood test showed that he is at a high risk for having a heart attack. His Total Cholesterol was 245, his father died of a heart attack at 55 years old and he is overweight by 30 pounds. The teams helped Steve find out what his goal should be for his Total Cholesterol to open the Break Out Box and then navigate the rest of the obstacles to unlock the keys to his long term health and avoid a HEART ATTACK!

On behalf of the American Heart Association and the millions of Americans we serve, thank you very much for Central's donation of *$5,350.00. Families and schools are critical links in providing the foundation for cardiovascular wellness in our country. By holding this event at your school each year, you raise awareness about heart-healthy living. And you help us fund more lifesaving scientific research and critically needed education efforts. Thank you Mrs. Burkle for organizing this successful event. Almost every family in America is touched by heart disease or stroke, and your school's contribution will significantly impact our fight against these devastating illnesses.
