Students in grades 5-12 had a great fall chorus concert tonight! In this piece, the high school choir got the audience involved with “Song for the Unsung Hero” and some classic chorus lines that we all know. Great job, everyone!

M's Machine and Mobile Track Solutions hosted students from area schools to showcase their businesses and to provide possible career opportunities for local students. Central had 20 students attend and were able to go through the businesses to see the products they build. It was also good to see former Central students who are employed at the 2 locations. M's Machine is a CNC machine shop that makes parts for numerous larger companies like John Deere, Caterpillar, as well as Mobile Track. MTS makes earth moving equipment here in Elkader for the road construction industry.

Saturday, October 12th, four FFA students and Mr. O'Brien left at 5 AM for ISU in Ames for the state soil judging contest. The students took a 40 point written test and then went to the engineering farm to judge 4 different soil pits. They earned the right to go to state by finishing 3rd at the district contest on October 4. It was a good learning experience for them to see the college and the soil scientists from Iowa State. I would like to thank the students for taking the time on a weekend to compete.

Ten members of the Central Mental Health Awareness Team attended the Youth Mental Health Conference in Des Moines today where they heard from keynote Royce White and his experience with anxiety while playing in the NBA.
