
Plant Science and the Central Community FFA had the opportunity to learn how to make shoulder corsages by the very talented Janis Lerch and Jane Wells at the Elkader Floral Shop today! It was a great field trip of learning! Thank you to this local business for sharing their talent with our students!

PK-2nd graders helped motivate the older students during ISASP Testing Week with special messages and posters! The 5th graders loved the encouragement from their little friends!


Tonight’s golf meet at North Fayette Valley is postponed, date TBD. At this time the 5-8 music concert tonight is still on as scheduled.

Thursday, 18, 7-12th grade art students entered into and attended the Upper lowa Conference Art Show in West Union. UNI Art Education Professors and their students came to judge the show and share their knowledge with the participating students.
There were 6 schools and 110 total students in the show to make for a great event!

These middle school girls traveled to Des Moines , Friday , April 25 , to represent Central Community School in the 4 x 100 m relay at the 115th Drake Relays . Relay members are Reagan Heavens, Brynlee Thorson, Harper Bennington, Emersyn Wiley, Claire Orr and Izzy Reierson. Great job girls! 👏👏


A big thanks to Phil from Moore Land Services, LLC for taking some time to tell us about his career as a surveyor and how Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) plays a role in the surveying process. He did a great job explaining the planning process involved in civil projects and highlighting the transfer of math and technology skills from school to career!




Central received the Carrie Chapman Catt award for the fourth consecutive year from Iowa's Sec. of State Paul Pate. Central was 1 of 40 schools able to register at least 90% of their seniors to vote this school year. Vaughn Zittergruen, Gavin Holst, Allison Heer, Olivia Stevenson, Marissa Glawe, and Mr. Wiley received the award today in Des Moines.

Congratulations to our Spanish 4 students — Ella Buckman, Brandi Herman, Mia Stone, and Isabella Schmitt — who took the AAPPL test and earned their Seal of Biliteracy!
All four demonstrated proficiency in listening, reading, writing, and speaking Spanish.
📚 They also met English proficiency through their ACT or ISASP scores from junior year.
This is an incredible accomplishment that highlights their dedication, perseverance, and bilingual abilities. ¡Estamos muy orgullosos de ustedes! 🌟🌍

Parents and community members are invited to attend monthly Central Fine Arts Booster Club meetings to help support our Fine Arts Department. Meetings are held in the band and chorus room the second Wednesday of the month, August-May at 7:00 PM.


The 4th graders planted a maple tree with Kenny Slocum today in honor of Arbor Day. They get to take home plum tree seedlings to plant!

Tomorrow, eight of our outstanding 5th and 6th grade singers will travel to Oelwein to participate in the NEICDA Honor Choir!
Adalynn B., Kash B., Oliver F., Ciera G., Lila H., Taylor H., Mason K., and Emersyn W. will spend the day making music, memories, and new friends alongside talented students from across the region.
We’re also thrilled to share some exciting news—TWO of our singers, Kash and Taylor, have been selected as soloists for tomorrow’s performance! What an incredible honor!
