This week, our Central Strength & Conditioning classes took some time to learn a seriously important skill—CPR! 🫀💪
They got hands-on with CPR for adults, kids, and babies, plus learned how to use an AED and what to do if someone’s choking.
Big shoutout to Ashley McLain for leading the training and making sure our students are ready to step up in an emergency. Thank you so much! 👏

The high school band had their second clinic in their preparation for the State Large Group Festival. Thank you Mr. Gosnell for joining us in class today! He provided thoughtful feedback and worked with the students to help grow their musicianship. Thank you also to Mr. Fritz who worked with the ensemble in early April. Last but not least, thank you to our wonderful band members for always being kind, willing to work, and just being the awesome musicians they are.

Central's preschool has started their ABC Countdown and today was C for Character Day. Staff and students had so much fun dressing up as their favorite character!

Our 6th–8th grade students recently enjoyed Spend It or Save It, a fun and engaging financial literacy program! 💰✨
Through entertaining sketches and memorable characters, students learned how to:
✔️ Prioritize needs vs. wants
✔️ Understand cash vs. credit
✔️ Explore the basics of investing
✔️ Build smart saving habits
They really enjoyed this program and laughed while learning valuable life lessons—what could be better? 😄💡
Special thanks to the Iowa Department of Insurance and Financial Services for sponsoring this awesome opportunity!

5th Grade Scientists made a model to show the ingredients needed to make rain in our atmosphere. They determined a warm ocean (any water) and a cold sky are needed to turn evaporation into condensation in the clouds. They showed great collaboration and discussion skills as well! Good Job!

Adalynn Bergan completed her 5th grade STMath Journey! What a great accomplishment and showing of hard work and determination! Good Job!

A big thanks to Jacob Bickett from Mobile Track Solutions for sharing valuable industry and career knowledge with our CAD students today! Jacob is MTS's Design Engineering Manager and did a great job of sharing how material selection, product design, and continual product improvement all play an important role in industry.

Central's 8th grade class attended a Career Fair hosted by NICC and Upper Iowa University today. This Career Fair allowed students to explore careers they have researched this year while making their four year plan and to connect with people in their career areas of interest.
Students were given a tour of Upper Iowa University campus after the Career Fair. As 8th graders, it is not too early for them to think about their career and educational goals!

Please join us in congratulating our amazing Business Manager, Allison Walch, on receiving the Emerging Leaders Scholarship from the Iowa Association of School Business Officials! 🎉
This prestigious scholarship is only given to 2 recipients in the state of Iowa and recognizes school business professionals with five or fewer years in the field and supports their growth into tomorrow’s leaders. We’re so proud of Mrs. Walch’s hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence for the Central district — this honor is well deserved! 🌟
Be sure to congratulate Mrs. Walch the next time you see her or reach out with a message or email!

Check out these incredible drumsticks Bryer made in Manufacturing class!
After researching different materials, he chose an exotic hardwood called Wenge, known for its rich dark color, durability, and strength. Native to Central Africa, this wood made the perfect choice for a high-quality, custom set. Bryer shaped the drumsticks on a wood lathe, carefully sanding and finishing them with wax for a sleek, professional look. Awesome job, Bryer!

Central 3rd graders were thrilled to receive the book Just Like Caitlyn! This book tells
Caitlin Clark's story and includes many important life lessons like dreaming big, working
hard, valuing relationships over winning and many more.
The students were very excited to receive this donation! Thank you to Ally Obermeier, the author of this book, and her parents, Dickson and Luann Jensen, who made this generous donation.
